So happy to have y’all back in my podcast feed again talking about Westworld.<\/p>\n

When it comes to the Season 2 credits, one thing that I don’t think any of you have mentioned is that the Vitruvian Man figure at the end of the credits, in the big circle being pulled out of the white liquid is now a woman (a rather well endowed one, so it’s not hard to see once you know what to look for. I’ve attached screenshots.)<\/p>\n

So much of Season 1 was about looking at the women through the lens of the male gaze. It, really, was essentially at the heart of the narrative: Dolores is the “welcome wagon,” there to entice the men who visit the park. Maeve and Clementine, of course, and while it’s clear that the hosts are sexually fluid, the majority of their paying customers are still men. Angela, like Dolores, is a bit of a welcome wagon, at least in William’s old time frame.<\/p>\n

It’s not a coincidence, then, that the women are the ones leading the rebellion. They are the ones that have been used and abused far more then the male hosts. Violated, even.<\/p>\n\n\t\t
