Why do you think it’s more likely that, in
\nthe opening scene, Dolores was teaching a
\ncopy of Arnold fidelity to the original
\nArnold, rather than teaching Teddy how to
\nimitate Bernard? Because Ford built Bernard
\nto imitate Arnold, Dolores’ memories of
\nconversations with Arnold would help her
\nteach Teddy how to imitate Bernard. Dolores
\nmay have had many more conversations with
\nArnold than with Bernard, for her to draw upon.<\/p>\n

The widescreen format of the Dolores\/Bernard
\nopening scene indicates it may be a
\nsimulation within the Cradle, since Bernard’s
\nexperience within the Cradle simulation was
\nalso shown widescreen.<\/p>\n

Whether or not the opening scene is a Cradle
\nsimulation, it presumably occurs after the
\nkamikaze train attack on day 7ish and before
\nDelos’ large army arrives on day 14ish.
\nDuring this period Dolores presumably gained
\ncontrol of the Mesa and access to the Cradle,
\nafter dealing with the small QA contingent
\npresent when the train struck.<\/p>\n

If Emily’s mom was afraid of the Rajworld
\nelephants, young Emily’s reaction to “mom
\nplus elephants” could have been confused, and
\nmisunderstood by William. The reason it was
\ngiven screentime in this episode could simply
\nbe to show us that William & Emily had never
\ncommunicated enough to correct his
\nmisunderstanding.<\/p>\n

Emily didn’t say “gauntlet.” She said “gala.”<\/p>\n

I agree Dolores may have doubts about the
\nchanges to Teddy, including his loyalty.
\nThat makes me wonder why she had no more use
\nfor the technician who changed Teddy, who she
\nallowed to be killed on the kamikaze train.<\/p>\n

By the way, the primary meaning of the word
\n‘fidelity’ is loyalty, not indistinguishable
\ncopy. Nevertheless, I think Dolores used the
\nword in the opening scene the same way
\nWilliam did with James Delos-bot.<\/p>\n

If Sizemore had nothing better to do, he
\nmight have helped Felix & Sylvester with the
\nhost corpses. He did have something better
\nto do: use his brain to strategize.<\/p>\n

I don’t think you should call QA inept,
\nbecause the Cradle was fighting back.<\/p>\n

The phrase “hello, old friend” was important
\nin a second season episode of Babylon 5 (as a
\npassword to a recorded message left by first
\nseason Captain Sinclair, that had to be
\nguessed by his old friend Security Chief
\nGaribaldi). Therefore I declare it an homage.<\/p>\n

What was the music Ford played at the end of
\nthe episode? The waltz composed by Anthony
\nHopkins? If so, Louis Herthum provided us
\nanother nice tidbit in your interview.<\/p>\n
