When Ford spoke Akecheta’s name he accented
\nthe second syllable: a-KEECH-ta. So did the
\nlady supervisor in the Mesa. So did his
\nfellow Ghost Nation warrior when Emily
\narrived. So did Akecheta in episode 2 when
\nhe introduced himself to Logan. Maybe you
\nshould too?<\/p>\n

No character development this season, prior
\nto this episode? Maeve’s character has come a
\nlong way. So has Sizemore’s, who appears to
\nsincerely regret the consequences of having
\nradioed QA for evac. (And of course,Teddy’s
\nmild-mannered character received quite a
\nboost…)<\/p>\n

Maeve did NOT create the communications
\nchannel with which she spoke remotely with
\nAkecheta. Ford-in-the-Cradle used it often
\nthis season when he spoke through hosts to
\nthe Man in Black. I’m curious about whether
\nBernord has the power to manipulate hosts.<\/p>\n

It was lunch time while Akecheta roamed
\nunseen through the Mesa. Maybe everyone was
\non lunch break, up on the surface. In those
\ndays, they might not have had much need for
\nsecurity. Also, a skilled Ghost Nation
\nwarrior could presumably hide like a ninja
\nwhen he hears footsteps or voices, until they
\nmove on.<\/p>\n

I too initially assumed Deathbringer is
\nDolores. But that made less sense to me
\nafter Akecheta found her corpse next to
\nArnold’s. Deathbringer might just be the
\nLakota name for the invisible evil spirit to
\nwhich they attribute unexplained mass slaughters.<\/p>\n

In a previous episode, Akecheta told Stubbs
\nthat one is alive while remembered. That
\nmakes more sense now that we know Kohana, the
\nLakota woman Akecheta loved and lost, still
\nlives in his memory. (I hope “remembered is
\nalive” isn’t a loophole in Asimov’s first law
\nof robotics.)<\/p>\n

There were hints before the end of the
\nepisode that Akecheta was communicating with
\nMaeve. About 10 minutes before, he said “But
\nit was a promise you couldn’t keep”
\n(according to a subtitle translation of
\nLakota). Later, he told Maeve’s daughter in
\nEnglish that he’d always kept her safe, but
\nthen said in Lakota “But I couldn’t help \/you\/.”<\/p>\n

I liked the guitar music at the end of the
\npodcast, but I think it would be better with
\na faster tempo.<\/p>\n
