\nan Artificial Intelligence: an extraordinary
\nachievement; capable of interfering the same
\nway Ford’s mind in the Cradle was able to
\ninterfere with the park’s systems; capable of
\nlearning.<\/p>\n
\nby “origin of an entire species” during his
\nfinal conversation with BernOrd. We know
\nFord didn’t mean Akecheta because Ford’s
\nadvice to Akecheta — to lead the Nation to
\nsafety after Deathbringer kills Ford —
\nhadn’t been part of Ford’s plan. Ford
\nprobably didn’t mean Maeve, because he’d
\nplanned for her escape to the mainland before
\nhis final Journey Into Night story. Ford
\nprobably didn’t mean Dolores, whose code
\nseems as broken as the code in the loathsome
\nhumans. Thus, by process of elimination,
\nFord probably meant the new species is
\nsomething at the Forge we haven’t yet seen…
\nand the Door must be opened to free it from
\nthe Forge. A hint that Ford meant something
\nsingular like an AI, rather than something
\nplural like immortal copies of guests, is
\nwhen he told Maeve that, just as she’d chosen
\nto stay in the park to save her child, so had

\nappear in the trailer for episode 10.<\/p>\n
\nin Black, the moment before he concluded she
\nwas a Ford creation and turned on her, she
\ntold him the reason she wanted to clone
\nJuliet was to learn why Juliet committed
\nsuicide… what was different that night.
\nThe Man in Black knew the real Emily would
\nalready know about something different that
\nnight: Emily had insisted Juliet go back to
\nrehab. A clone of Emily, on the other hand,
\nwouldn’t have known that since Emily hadn’t
\nbeen in the park for years.<\/p>\n
\naddressing her as Robert, “You just want to
\nshove what I’ve built here in my face.” I
\nthink he meant the Forge, since Emily
\ncouldn’t be an ordinary host; if she isn’t
\nhuman she’s a fairly high fidelity copy of a
\nguest, which only the Forge can produce.
\nThough I doubt the human Emily could be as
\ngood a sharpshooter as her clone, who shoots
\nas well as augmented Teddy did.<\/p>\n
\nshe located the Man in Black. First she said
\nshe’d searched everywhere, which is
\nimpossible given how quickly she found him.
\nThen she said it was fate and changed the
\nsubject. Not a satisfactory explanation if
\nshe’s human.<\/p>\n
\nexplosives in their spines since they’re
\nintended to live (forever) in the real world.
\nAssuming QA doesn’t know about the
\nimmortality project, they wouldn’t know their
\nportable host detection scanners can’t
\ndistinguish between humans and copies of guests.<\/p>\n

\ninstance, when Emily came to Akecheta’s camp

\nbe needed to make high fidelity copies. A
\nsingle deep snapshot should contain all the
\nnecessary information about how a guest’s
\nbrain is wired, the strength of each synapse,
\nthe health of each neuron, etc. Continual
\ndeep scans were never feasible because guests
\nspend most of their time in the real world,
\ndon’t sleep with hats on, etc.<\/p>\n
\nbelieve it could be lightweight enough to be
\nconcealed. More believable would be to take
\nsnapshot scans of guests while they sleep, as
\nopportunities arise.<\/p>\n
