I&#8217;m going to miss this. So, among the thousand-and-one questions I&#8217;d like to ask you for this final telegraph, I&#8217;ve picked the one that seems to be agitating my heart strings frequently: <\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;m mostly thrilled with this follow-up season but my one nagging question surrounds, unsurprisingly, the William plot line. As we already know that his entire quest for The Maze in Season 1 can be categorized as a drawn-out red herring, I&#8217;m finding myself a bit bothered that we don&#8217;t have a whole lot more clarity about what he was doing throughout Season 2. He somehow manages to remain one of the most compelling characters for me, and yet, what was his purpose? He says he wants the hosts to be free to fight back, yet he shoots Dolores when she&#8217;s on the verge of making a major breakthrough at The Forge. He says he wants to prove that the &#8220;verdict&#8221; on him as shown on the card Ford gave him was flawed, or that he could change, but how was he planning on achieving that? And finally, the early part of this season shows many interventions by Ford along the MiB&#8217;s travels and tells us explicitly that Ford had made a game for him and that it was called The Door, but what the hell did Ford want to achieve with it? What WAS it? Is it that we simply have not yet been told what happened after William got off the elevator and before we see him on a stretcher on the beach? Or was this game of Ford&#8217;s yet another season-long red herring? As I really don&#8217;t want it to be the latter, I&#8217;m hoping you guys have some thoughts. <\/p>\n<p>Thanks as always for the fabulous content. You will be missed until Game of Thrones makes its triumphant final return. (Yes, I know, Shat the Movies&#8230; I&#8217;d tell you I&#8217;ll give it a try in the interim, but there&#8217;s just too much damn good television these days.
