So, some of your takes on the instacast bugged me. This episode was as much as a goodbye to the characters as it was a celebration of the power of women, and foreshadowing the role I think they will have in taking down the enemy. When you guys say that Sansa was being stupid you don’t take to account that she’s caring for her house, her people and the North. When you say that the scene with the little girl, when Davos and Gilly encourage her to defend the cripts is bad, you, as men, don’t realize the importance of a girl’s wish not being dismissed just for being a girl. No one is saying she will in fact defend it; she can’t, she’s just a little girl; but by not saying that to her, by giving her a sense that her presence is important, you’re encouraging her to be brave. And that’s amazing, especially when girls are told to hide and let the men handle things all the time. They didn’t minimize her, and that was incredible to watch as a woman. And when you say Arya this and that, it goes to show how we view women’s sexuality. We’ve watched Arya kill LOTS of people in very graphic and cruel ways, and everyone is ok with it. But when she takes her sexuality into her own hands, all the sudden her age matters, we watching her grow up matters. Sansa was raped, Dany was raped, and no one cared that they were young or that we watched they grow. But when a woman is firm and know watch she wants, when she’s not a poor raped girl, when she decides to have sex with someone she likes for years, right before they probably die, it makes people uncomfortable. I think it was a really tastefully scene. Besides that, the scenes with Brienne and Lyanna reinforce my point that this was an episode about girl power. <\/p>\n
