I just wanted to say I love the podcasts and appreciate everything. <\/p>\n

This episode definitely had its flaws, but I felt like one of the things they got right was the weapon that was used to kill the Night King. <\/p>\n

The Valyrian steel dagger basically began this entire story. After Bran was pushed from the window, the blade was used to attempt to kill him. The original owner of that blade became a huge question, and lead to Catelyn Stark arresting Tyrion, which then forced Jaimie to attack Ned in the streets, preventing him from leaving King’s Landing. It was then used by Baelish to betray Ned in the Red Keep, and the dominoes start to fall. <\/p>\n

Arya was gifted the dagger by Bran in the exact same place she killed the Night King. She even used a similar “dagger drop” move against Brienne of Tarth during their sparring session. And that same dagger, of course, was used to kill Petyr Baelish, who started literally everything (beginning with the murder of Jon Arryn). <\/p>\n

This all is probably pretty obvious but I felt like it was the right thing to do for the Game of Thrones story. And I’m confident it won’t be the last time we see this dagger used importantly.<\/p>\n
