Have a Theory? Share It Now!<\/a><\/strong><\/p><\/div>Hey guys, I love your podcast(s) and think you do a great job, but I just wanted to write in regarding the Episode 7 Deep Dive. <\/p>\n

King Bee had an issue with how slow Laurie Blake was to react to Jane Crawford literally confessing to her face and taking multiple attempts to use the clicker thing on her. We can respond to this in one of two ways: <\/p>\n

1) The Agent Blake I know would never react like that. This is obviously bad writing. Show iz bad. <\/p>\n

2) That does seem out of character for the Agent Blake we’ve come to know, especially when contrasted with how closely she was watching Angela. What could this mean? Hmmm… Maybe it shows how Laurie never considered that a white woman could be a threat, even when one was confessing her nefarious plans directly to her. Or maybe it highlights how Laurie was so concerned about masked vigilantes being dangerous that she failed to see the dangers imposed by non-masked people. Or maybe it shows how the uber-confident Agent Blake thought she had everything figured out but lost her ability to cope the moment she was faced with something she didn’t expect. <\/p>\n

Also, King Bee disagreed with the idea that “a white man in a mask is a hero; a black man in a mask is scary.” I’m worried that you might have missed the whole point of Hooded Justice. Why do you think he painted his face white under the hood? Even as a masked hero, he needed to pretend to be white. If people knew he was black, he never would have been allowed to do what he did. He wanted to help improve the world (or at least a tiny little bit of it), but he could only do that as a white man. <\/p>\n

Not to be too paternalistic, but pointing out mistakes or bad writing is beneath a podcast like yours. Any jabroni on Twitter can point out plot holes or logical flaws. A good critical analysis, like you guys do, should go beyond that. How can these moments when characters ostensibly acted out of character be justified? What does this mean in the overall context of the show? This is where your critical interpretation really shines. <\/p>\n

I don’t mean to be overly negative. You guys do a great job and I love listening to your show. Keep up the good work. <\/p>\n
