Hey there Rog, Big D, and Gene!<\/p>\n

I’m reaching out to you in lieu of these exciting Westworld episodes we’ve gotten recently. I wonder if any of you have heard of “The Hypostasis of the Archons”: an alternate description of the book of Genesis, and part of a collection of Gnostic codices that were found in 1945; lost and never finding their way to Christian orthodoxy.<\/p>\n

The reason I bring this up is because since the beginning of the show I’ve thought they were many similarities in this specific exegesis: “The Hypostasis of the Archons”. The title may also be translated as The Reality of the Rulers, which is where I think there are some more obvious similarities with what has now become e trajectory of the plot of this show.<\/p>\n

I really suggest you all to take a deeper look at the text which can be found through the “Nag Hammadi” library source online, but this early passage should sound reminiscent:<\/p>\n

“Because of the reality of the authorities, inspired by the spirit of the father of truth, the great messenger referring to the authorities of the darkness told us that our contest is not against flesh and blood, rather, the authorities of the universe and the spirits of wickedness. I have sent you this because you inquire about the reality of the authorities.”<\/p>\n

This is the major takeaway from this alternative book of Genesis; in which we discover that the gods of creation are not the magnificent gods we may create in mystery and in myth, but are Actually ignorant and wicked gods.<\/p>\n

It almost sounds like it’s coming from the mouth of Maeve who is able to break free from this trap, which is further in explored in “The Hypostasis of the Archons”<\/p>\n

Regardless of whether not Crichton or the writers of the show are inspired from this I’ve enjoyed finding the parallels in an actual text that literally embodies the idea of hiding a memory from the collective conscious. Supposedly these codices that were found in Egypt were lost during conflict over the creation of Christian Orthodoxy that would only hold power if it stood the test of time.<\/p>\n

I would love to hear what you guys think especially if you take a look at the articles. I love your podcast and it’s reminiscent of the same discourse we would have in the Religion courses I had where my Medieval Christianity Professor showed me all of these awesome documents!<\/p>\n
