Two theories I have had for a few weeks that are looking increasingly plausible:<\/p>\n<p>I think the massacre at Escalante was Teddy, as Dr. Ford&#8217;s agent, cleaning up the bicameral misfit toys after Arnold was killed. Maybe Ford created him to be a kind of Bladerunner, sniffing out the sentient hosts? His close relationship with Delores is just him keeping an eye on her to see if she tries to kill again &#8211; Ford has been letting her live because he can&#8217;t bring himself to retire the purest form of what Arnold was trying to create.<\/p>\n<p>I think Dr Ford is well aware of Maeve&#8217;s revolution, and is giving her just enough rope to hang herself and any hosts she can recruit to her cause.
