Have a Theory? Share It Now!<\/a><\/strong><\/p><\/div> Hi all,<\/p>\n

I don’t necessary think this theory will happen, but I wanted to share with you the identity of Charlotte that I think would make for the best television this season. My personal hope is that we are seeing multiple timelines and that the Charlotte we are seeing most of this season is Caleb, or at least Dolores’s memory of him. <\/p>\n

I think this would make for the best reveal for a number of reasons. Firstly, i think that Caleb’s abandonment issues with his mom are strongly reflected in how the Charlotte host acts in both their relationship with Charlotte’s son and in their clingy-ness towards Dolores. Caleb also fits the profile of being smart, empathetic, loyal, and violent when the need arises- all attributes we’ve seen from host Charlotte. <\/p>\n

Second, as you all have noted, the show has been drawing parallels between Caleb and William. What better way to conclude this than by replicating their biggest twist from season 1 and reveal that we have been witnessing the same character in multiple timelines. <\/p>\n

Caleb’s death has already been foreshadowed this season. Perhaps he will die in a future episode and Dolores will upload his essence into Charlotte. He may also voluntarily come to the conclusion that he will have greater free will as a host than in his life as a human and decide to kill himself and become a host. <\/p>\n

I like this theory mostly because of how surprising and unexpected it would be while still being true to the show. If it were to turn out that Charlotte is just one of the hosts from the park, or even another Dolores, I wouldn’t find that nearly as exciting <\/p>\n

There are holes in this theory. To be true, it would probably need to rely on either a good amount of timefuckery or multiple Charlotte hosts. But it wouldn’t be completely out of the realm of possibly for the Westworld creators. <\/p>\n
