When he puts the glasses on, we see his wife fighting with him, then leaving him, then dead.  However, I believe we took this scene wrong.  When he put the glasses on, he wasn&#8217;t seeing the past, he was seeing the FUTURE, or more specifically the future Rehoboam had predicted and was guiding him toward.  That is why he is so aghast when he witnesses it, and why Dolores tells her &#8220;I&#8217;ve freed you&#8221; when she sees that her husband is dead.  Even though Rehoboam sees others futures, it is doubtful that it (he?) would share those insights with those who subscribed to the service and philosophy.  So, any time someone Don&#8217;s the glasses, we have to ask ourselves if what we are seeing now, something that already happened, OR (most importantly) an event that Rehoboam has planned as that person&#8217;s destiny. <\/p>\n<p>An interesting find: I heard something strange upon rewatching episode 3.  Jake, Charlotte Hale&#8217;s ex husband, calls her &#8220;Charley&#8221; when he first greets her.  This harkens back to season 1 theories that Charlotte is actually Arnold&#8217;s daughter. <\/p>\n<p>Even though Bernard&#8217;s memories were constructed and his cornerstone was embedded in him by Ford, we do find out in season 2 that Charley is real when flashbacks of Arnold and Dolores are shown (at Arnold&#8217;s house).
