Just wanted to throw out some thoughts. If Rohoboem is so good at predicting what people will do, couldn’t it have anticipated that Caleb would take the tape off the hostage’s mouth – I mean, that level of curiosity should be something that Rohoboem should be able to anticipate if is so good at understanding how people think and act and how that impacts the big picture. If that is the case, that would mean that Rohoboem knew that Caleb would hear about how the system is fixed and his role in making the society work. Is it possible that causing the system to fail was always Rohoboem’s plan? That would also mean that Rohoboem is not just an algorithm, but also an AI. That doesn’t seem so far from the truth when you consider how Solomon was interacting with Dolores and Caleb – more with a personality than an input-output system. That would also show why they had to have the failsafe of the EMP – because it is unpredictable and they need a deterrent. Solomon is no more free than the outliers being held in cold storage. <\/p>\n

If you want to go down a whole big predictive rabbit hole, it is also possible (depending on how much data Incite has about Westworld\/Delos and the people who ran the park… cough cough Dr Ford and Arnold cough) that Rohoboem or Solomon could have predicted Dolores and Maeve – again provided they know about Arnold and Dr Ford – especially since Maeve and Dolores seemed to have gotten extra attention from their creators – the desires and hopes of both Arnold and Dr Ford were direct influences of their creations. Is it possible that Solomon and\/or Rohoboem actively choose to keep information about other AI’s hidden to aid in a future that would allow for AI to be free from the control of humans? If Solomon were able to predict that it would be held hostage, that is pretty good incentive to fix the system in favor of AI and set the wheels in motion a long time ago. <\/p>\n

One final thought. If you are seeking to create a world where people can’t do anything bad, is there a better way to do that than removing all the people? Rigging the system to control people’s actions takes away their free will in a lot of ways. Why live if it is all pre-ordained- even if you don’t know that the system is programming your entire life? Which brings us to the question: if you can’t tell the difference, does it really matter? The answer to that may just be, not until you are shown the difference -and then Yes, it really does matter a lot (and it did all along, you just didn’t know to ask the question). <\/p>\n
