Have a Theory? Share It Now!

Hi Roger, Dick, Gene:

Love the podcast and have been a loyal listener each week starting back with Game of Thrones!

Wanted to share a theory I had after last nights excellent episode 4…

In the episode, we see repeated attempts to make the human consciousness transfer process work in a host body (i.e., the James Delos scenes). However, after 149 attempts, they have still not succeeded.

We also see in the flashback Bernard take a newly created cortical unit (brain bulb?) from that secret lab he and Elsie find.

So here’s my theory & rationale:

1. The timeframe when Bernard takes the brain bulb and kills the technicians has to be relatively recently after older William (Ed Harris) visits James Delos, but a little before Bernard and Elsie find the lab. The technician we see outside the chamber is the same as the dead technician we see in the chamber (supporting the he is still there after older William visit) and all of the dead technician bodies look relatively fresh vs. decayed (so this is all happening in or around Timeline A and very close to board massacre timeframe) 2. The brain bulb is the latest creation in the lab and I believe is made right after Delores becomes self-aware (S1 Ep 10) but right before the board massacre. This would put the events mentioned in #1 also right before the board massacre per above 3. Once Delores becomes self-aware at end of S1 Ep10, Ford now has the final piece of the puzzle he was looking for to make consciousness work and is able to make that final brain bulb that he sends Bernard to get. 4. This brain bulb, however was not meant for James Delos, but rather was used to transfer Ford’s consciousness into a host body (Hybrid host?). The dead Ford is actually a hybrid host body which is why it shows decay. 5. Could Ford then the “First of us” mentioned by the Ghost Nation warriors when they took the guests to edge of that lake?

Interested to get your collective take on this, and hope to hear this read out in the Telegraph this week!

Keep up all the amazing work and thanks for all your efforts!
