Dany’s Turn

Have a Theory? Share It Now!

Hey Gene, Big D,

Just one more short e-mail on how Dany’s turn played out. I feel on the second watch it was really believable.

I think many of us have had a moment of temptation in our lives when we had an opportunity to walk away from doing something we know we shouldn’t, but because we had had our heart or mind set on doing it up until that point, we can’t take the golden opportunity to walk away given to us and end up doing the bad thing anyway.

(Being vague here because this isn’t Shat the movies, so maybe sordid tales of romantic heartbreak aren’t a good fit for the pod!)

So, I agree with you guys on your deep dive analysis, I think Dany (and Grey Worm) went in there with their hearts and minds set on revenge. When the bells came Dany realized she had an out, but just couldn’t put a lid back on her sense of rage, hurt and betrayal.

We see that play across her face, she’s stunned and unprepared for such a quick victory, and slides into doing what she set out to, annihilate the city.

Cheers for reading guys,
Si Haywood
