GOT – The Bells

Hey guys!

Love the podcast, I wanted to touch on what Big D mentioned in the instacast for season 8 episode 5. The emotions that have always been evoked in past seasons when a main character dies I think were amplified so much by the fact that we always knew there was more show to come, how would the show feel without those characters? How would it change the outlook on who sits on the throne? Personally, I feel I’ve become numb to the deaths of so many beloved characters this season simply because I can justify it by saying, “Well it’s all ending in an episode or two anyway”. The Clegane Bowl has been something that the audience has been asking for since early on in the show and now that it’s over with I find myself disappointed. Not because of the death of one of the best characters in the show, the chicken eating champ, but because I feel that it would hurt a lot more if I knew there were going to be future seasons and episodes without him. The suspense that has always accompanied such scenes in the past no longer has the same effect because of the impending end of the show. Thanks for all your hard work, can’t wait to hear your thoughts on the deep dive. Looking forward to all your future endeavors.
