Pressing Pause On Theories This Week

Dear ShatonTV
I am taking off my theory hat for this week to write in discussing the ratings for the show. I know you guys can’t say it, so i will gladly. Anyone who doesn’t understand this show is either not paying attention (or jumping past episodes) or just plainly not smart enough to get it. Yes it is complex, but not to the point its unenjoyable. I thought Lisa Joy did a tremendous job in putting on screen exactly what she eanted to convey.
Much like in season 1, when we had that scene at the mesa, anthony hopkins at the table, his acting, his subtle movements that were broken down. This episodes scene, where The Man in Black, William, and as he has his “light bulb” moment, where we are seeing his eyes, cuts to flashback of his wife, and the score behind it, was all poetry to me. It had my heart and every single bone inside me feeling exactly what William felt in that moment. The way the scene broke down, and the way the man in black has changed season to season, is believable to me. Like big d said it isnt as black hat to white hat for william, more gray. I think william has been a white hat in his life the whole time, black hat in the park, and finally it seems as if he is accepting of the white hat. I think he has been repressing the white hat part of himself this whole time, though. So his journey, over the course of 30 years, has been him rejecting the role, and finally he is starting to understand life, and meaning. I digress, i mainly wanted to appreciate this scene, and episode as a whole, it was likely one of the best episodes to date, and arguably of any show i have seen. For that reason i decided to forget theories this week to just enjoy what a wonderful episode it was.
Thanks guys, kenny p.
