What did Dolores accomplish at Forlorn Hope?

I think she was killing two birds with one stone. She needed to put the brakes on the QA team hunting her small band down, so she needed the Confederales Army to draw QA into a trap.

And why did she intentionally slaughter her army?

I believe that she killed her army so no one else could get to the weapon at Glory/Valley beyond before her. She needs to go back to Sweetwater for some reason and if she left any of the Confederales alive they may march to Glory and seize the weapon before she does. I’m not sure if she will bring the army back from the dead. She may but I don’t think she needs to bring them back unless it’s to hold the fort and serve as a distraction for QA to throw themselves against.
