Will Daenys Go North?

Have a Theory? Share It Now!

Two of Dany’s loves – Jorah and Jon – are now north of the Wall on the great wight hunt. She seemed troubled by their decision to take on this quest. In the next episode preview, we see that they encounter the White Walkers and the Army of the Dead, which could mean problems for this small band of brave companions. I wonder if Dany will go north to assist them, and what will compel her to do so.

Daenys the Dreamer

One of Dany’s ancestors is Daenys Targaryen, called Daenys the Dreamer. Twelve years before the Doom, Daenys dreamed of the fall of Old Valyria. So real and frightening were her prophetic dreams that House Targaryen retreated to Dragonstone, the western most outpost of the Valyrian Freehold, making House Targaryen the only surviving dragonriders in the world. Perhaps, like her ancestor, Dany will dream a nightmare of what awaits Jon, Jorah and company and fly north to save them.

The dragons

We saw Drogon make an instant connection with Jon Snow. Perhaps, the dragons will become restless this episode, like horses sensing a storm or an earthquake. Dany will know something is wrong and somehow determine that she must go north.

Quaithe

One of the most compelling and unknown characters in the books is Quaithe. Quaithe shows up in various places and times, dispensing mysterious wisdom and cryptic words to Dany about her path. It would be great to see Dany have a vision of Quaithe, who tells her to go north.

Her intuition

Dany is restless. She waited the first act of this season on Tyrion and Varys’s plans to win her the throne. That didn’t work. She took matters into her own hands and defeated the Lannister and Tarly armies. Perhaps, Dany will determine that Tyrion has concocted another clever plan and enough with them, as she said in episode four.

Bran

Bran could see certain death for Jon. He could send a raven to Dragonstone telling Dany that she must save Jon and company.
