Social Contract Philosophy

Westworld Season 4 has been a fun entertaining mess. I don’t understand the motivation and actions taken by the antagonists. In fact I’m not even sure who to root for.

Theory/prediction:
William has had multiple self-reflective moments, and has always doubled down on chaos. Likely this will be his last violent ride.

Hale will upload Maeve, then after beating MIB 2.0 she will get uploaded. And there the AI will likely weigh her feather by creating Christina. Which will culminate in the second coming of a full Delores.

Stubbs and Clem will protect Frankie, but Caleb is ultimately doomed to fall apart. Frankie and company will be left to prop up humanity.

This sets the stage for Humanity and AI to finally sit down on somewhat an equal footing to decide the future. While also setting up Futureworld in space.

This is all assuming that HBO still exists next year.

Deep Dive: It really feels like Nolan has never been able to get this far in his Man Vs AI loops/plots before getting canceled (RIP Person of Interest) and has simply decided to reenact Social Contract Philosophy debates with robots and action scenes. I might be wrong but MIB is Hobbes. Sublime is Locke, and Hale is a version of Rosseau. Meanwhile Humanity is just the worst, as ever.
