Akecheta Talking To Maeve

During my first watching of episode 8, I realized that Akecheta was speaking to Maeve instead her daughter before the big reveal at the end. I also believe that he spoke Lakota when needing to connect with Maeve, and English when he was talking to the little girl.

Around minute 47ish, when Akecheta was explaining how he would watch over them, it then flashes back to Maeve promising her daughter that no one would keep them apart.

Akecheta then says “But it was a promise you couldn’t keep”. His use of you in that statement, indicated that he was speaking to Maeve, not the little girl. If he was speaking to the little girl, he would have said “But it was a promise your mom couldn’t keep”. Subtle detail, but it made me take notice and think that he was talking to Maeve.
