American Gods Audio Book

Have a Theory? Share It Now!

I am in Big D’s camp of having fresh eyes and ears, never reading the book or listening to the audio book for american gods. After the first episode i was intrigued and thanks to Roger’s sound advice i downloaded the audio book on audible….

BIGGEST MISTAKE OF MY LIFE

i am now grossed out, freaked out, and disturbed. I stopped listening before it ruins the show for me but my biggest complaint is Bilquest’s voice on the audible audio book. While watching the show i was transfixed on the actress and loved how she spoke how she sounded talking to the old lonely man looking for a good time, how she moved throughout the room, she was sexy and amazing and again transfixing. IN THE AUDIO BOOK IT SOUNDS LIKE SNOW WHITES EVIL QUEEN. LEGIT SOUNDS LIKE THE PART WHERE SHE ASKS “would you like this apple deary” THAT VOICE SAID THINGS I NEVER WANT TO HEAR BEING SPOKEN LIKE LABIA AND EW.

so thanks rog. youre a dick. and now when i see the beautiful sexy Bilquest on TV im going to have nightmares of it being the evil queen.

yes gene i get the irony of the old which being also the younger evil queen and hey isnt that symbolism to how bilquest is old and then envelopes her men worshipers and becomes young (maybe?) but no dont get all literal over here that voice is WACK for the audio book and i do not want to think the old lady witch when i think of a god with powers like bilquest.

also, is it weird i think it was more of a venus fly trap-style enveloping? thats an even worse visual and now im just creeping myself out

also

D.B. Woodside would have made a WAY better Shadow. (voice wise i think) but Ricky Whittle is good just, Woodside would have been soooooooo muchhhhhh betterrrrr

ok now time to watch last nights episode.

but please BIG D BE WARNED DO NOT FALL FOR ROG’S TRAP DO NOT DO THE AUDIO BOOK.

thanks!
