American Gods Season 1 Theory

Hello there, long term listener, first time emailing.

After the episode telling the origins of Mad Sweeney, it seems to me that the first season is breaking the usual trends of TV, and using the season as an introduction to each character – granted some seem to be getting more of an explanation than others.

This seems to opposed to the way they usually do things is jumping into the story and tell the view of the characters back ground here and there as tiny little snippets along the way.

As though they are using the whole of the first season to lay the premise out, but down the basic ground work – as it were – then really get into the story from season two, and only introduce more characters as they actually need to, since the main set of characters are already set into motion.

What are your thoughts?

Cheers,
Matthew.
