Arya and Gendry Come On!!!!

Hi,

Okay, I have a lot to say so I’m going to get right to it: Arya and Gendry wanted to be together and no one will convince me otherwise. Notice I said wanted in the past tense. I think stupid, stupid Dany ruined it by making him a Lord.

The evidence:

-Early in the series Ned tells Arya she will marry a Lord and rule over his castle and her children will be Lords and Ladies. She tells her father no, that’s not me. And she doesn’t want to be a lady.

-Later in the series, when they are traveling toward the wall to join the watch there’s a scene where Gendry reveals that he knows Arya is a girl. She reveals her actual identity and he calls her ma’lady. She gets upset at being called a Lady and pushes him down.

-There’s a scene, I believe they were in King’s Landing, where shirtless Gendry is working on a sword and Arya (and me at home with her in spirit) is clearly checking him out.

-When Arya and Gendry are with the brotherhood Gendry tells her he’s going to stay with them to be their Smith. He says they are a family and he’s never had a family. She says she can be his family. He replies, “You wouldn’t be my family, you’d be ma’lady.” She leaves upset and almost in tears.

-Shortly after the last scene, Melisandre shows up to take Gendry. As she is approaching the group the men are staring at her and Arya sounds a bit jealous that Gendry is staring too.

-And at last and most obvious there’s the look that came over Arya when she saw Gendry riding in with Jon and everyone at the beginning of season 8. And the fact that she wanted to sleep with him.

The conclusion:

I think Arya wanted to be with Gendry once all the wars were over if they both lived and her kill list was finished (Cersi definitely, I’m not sure who else is alive and sill on the list). I think the look Arya had when Gendry proposed was sadness because if he’s a Lord now, to be with him she would be expected to be a Lady. I think Arya was fine with regular old cute funny intelligent low born Gendry. But now he has a chance at a better life with a title and lands and a Lady and children and the whole 9 yards. Now she thinks she can’t be with him, but she also can’t take all that away from him. I hope they can be together in the end!!! But I have a bad feeling I’ll end up sad about it.
