Cersei’s Pregnancy

Hey, guys!
Been listening to y’all religiously since your Westworld podcast began. I really appreciate that you put so much time and effort into three podcasts a week!

Big D said in the Instacast that he screamed “bullshit” when Jamie and Bronn came out of the water. I screamed bullshit when Cersei revealed her “pregnancy.”

WHAT IF Cersei has fabricated her pregnancy simply to manipulate Jamie? I find it hard to believe that despite regularly hooking up, Jamie and Cersei haven’t conceived a child in roughly 15 years (since Tommen was conceived), when their first three children were all born within a few years of one another. It doesn’t seem plausible that a woman in her 40’s suddenly gets pregnant after going so long without conception.

As a viewer, I have been convinced all along that Jamie is safe until he becomes Queenslayer as well as Kingslayer, and completes his character arc by murdering the “mad queen Cersei.” Now, I’m not so sure. It seems to me that Cersei has recognized that Jamie is slipping from her control, and will do anything to prevent that from fully happening. She can’t afford to lose her lover, partner, and most importantly, her military cornerstone. What will keep Jamie from leaving her? A Lannister heir to live for. Now I think Jamie will murder Cersei the moment after she reveals to him that she made up the pregnancy to trick him into supporting her. She’s got a least a few months to play that card before it will be obvious she’s not pregnant.
