Hey Shat on crew, loved the insta-cast for episode 3. You really captured a lot I had missed on first viewing.

So let me throw this out I believe the pearl in Charlotte is really Clementine Pennyfeather. I think that there are several clues provided that point this out.

One: During the flashback when Dolores firs awakens the person inside Charlotte one of the first things that she does is to touch her face. I believe this is a call back to season one when Bernard is showing Elsie that Clementine has developed new gestures because of the reveries. Specifically she touches her face (Season one episode one about 16:30 in)

Two: Whoever is inside Charlotte is horrified that she has to be her. In season two Charlotte is the one who gives the authorization and watches the test of using Clementine to infect the other hosts, to make them turn against each other (season two episode 10). Who would horrify you more than having to play someone that tried to use you to kill off other members of your race.

Three.: When Charlotte confronts the predator, the physical violence reminds her of who she is. This seems like a call back to season one where Clementine refuses to stop and beats the crap out of a technician. She also commits many acts of violence in season two as one of Dolores’s army. This leads into

Four: Dolores tells the person in Charlotte that she trusts her. Clem was a trusted lieutenant in Dolores’s army.

Five: When the person inside Charlotte is confronted with the ex boyfriend she panics and quickly tries to seduce him. This seems like a pretty natural default for Clementine, kind of go with what you know.

Finally, and I am not sure on this one, I have listened to it a dozen times. It seems like when when Tessa Thompson says “why her, why can’t I be myself” it sounds like she is using an accent that just like Clem. I just can’t tell for certain.

Keep up the good work, you make quarantine a whole lot easier.
