“I think there is an answer here to a question no one’s even dreamed of asking.”

–William

In S2E4 we saw William trying to resurrect Daddy Delos giving credence to the theory that the Delos secret project involved immortality and/or replacing rich and powerful guests with host clones. If that is it, the secret project, I’d be so disappointed.

Raising the dead and immortality have been tropes of legend and literature for thousands of years. Immortal vampires are even the subject of a prior HBO series, True Blood. Authors have been replacing people with replicas for ages (The Stepford Wives was a 1975 film, for Pete sake).

No, please, NO! What I’d love is something I’d never even dreamed of. Of course, that won’t stop me from theorizing ….

Earlier in the season you guys talked about using the guests DNA and their off society’s leash experiences in the park to augment the profiling data already available for marketing. Let’s take that a step further – what if the guest’s best, most joyous and/or most frightening experiences can be used to trigger them, manipulate their emotions and generally lead them to do whatever Delos wants. We know even a whiff of a scent can trigger the same emotions as the original experience of that scent. Imagine what Delos could do with their treasure trove of data – an image, a shape, a scent, a word, any subliminal trigger and they have sealed your decision on the topic at hand.

Whatever …. But please, immortality and replicants are too little and too well worn for a series as grand as Westworld.
