Dolores’s Plan Is Actually Serac’s

Have a Theory? Share It Now!

Hey Hosts,

My name is Dylan and I love what you all do. Big fan of the pod! I’m writing because I have my first big theory about the show and I couldn’t think of a better place to share it.

Here goes. After a recent Inception rewatch, I started to apply some Nolan concepts this season of Westworld. Something I notice in most Nolan-verse stories is that a concept will be introduced by one character that actually applies to another. For example, in Inception, the group is focused getting Cillian Murphy’s character to reconcile with his father in order to accomplish their goal. But really the film is about DiCaprio’s character having to reconcile with his dead wife in order to accomplish, well, anything!

Anyway, in thinking this way about Westworld, I want to look at the concept of “kill and replace”. Bernard has figured out this is part of Dolores’s plan, but what if this has been what Cerac’s been doing all along?! Here’s the evidence:

-We saw that weird cubical, human holding room last episode where Cerac’s brother was being kept, along with the other outliers. When Dempsey Sr. confronted him about his brother, he didn’t say Cerac got rid of him, he said Cerac “Changed” him, which could mean he was taken, maybe killed, and replaced

-Cerac has had Moles in Delos/Westworld which means he’s probably got all the data and machinery needed to make hosts

-Finally, I think the last piece of evidence is Caleb. He seems to wrestle with his memories and struggle with his identity very much like Host Hale has struggled with her own inner Charlotte. Caleb could be a host replacement, struggling unknowingly with his identity, and maybe being controlled unknowingly by Dolores.

Hope you like it, Shatbots!

Inception is one of my favorite movies. I would love to see that level of complexity here.
