Fan Theory

Here is a few things that jumped out at me and smacked me hard with the latest episode

1) The Confederate soldier that was freed by teddy was simulating what the man in Black did to Laurence family back in season 1. It seems that the “game” is showing the man in Black that it has his baseline mind recorded and it is replaying / recreating events so that he can see or understand something. To me it seemed like it was a way to either trigger his memorys or to have him observe a “version” of himself… The “game” seems to have a life of it’s own as it is creating a “version” of the man in Black and incorporating his life / narrative into the story, as if it’s a story being written by a story…

2) When big daddy Delos (2nd appearance as a host) peers into the mirror and looks into himself in a deep way I was profoundly moved because I myself have looked into the mirror and wondered about “myself” and how strange it is to be able to look at “myself”… Have any of you in the potash done the same thing? Looked at yourself in the mirror questioning the nature of your reality?

3) I thought it was interesting how big daddy Dells (3rd appearance) jumps to the next loop of what he was going to say next solely on seeing Williams age, giving the impression that it is conscious? Or just following a pre set loop?

4)When big daddy Dells is listening to what is being said to “him” (3rd appearance) you can see the immense struggle within to fight or call out for help. This sent a chill throughout my body because I have reoccurring dreams of trying to run and I get nowhere, most of the time I am reduced to crawling as I struggle to move as fast as I can. This can be terrifying for some people if they have experienced this in a dream as it feels like you are trapped… Trapped inside someone’s dream… Where have we heard this from?

Ok so here is my fan theory with all of that said and done. We are being led to believe that a number of the hosts are gaining consciousness in a variety of ways, I say none of them are or will turn out to be “truly” conscious… Ford himself said consciousness doesn’t exist… However Ford seems to be the beginning of the next generation which is one step closer to the “singularity”… And I have a strong feeling that the man in Black will end up being a host of some kind possibly one that gains “true” consciousness through this trial… Or the “game” is going to be able to recreate him as a host because he is “playing the game to the bone”.
