Game of Thrones Episode 6

Hi guys

I just got into the podcast in the last few weeks, really enjoying it, and will check out your other ones too.

I wanted to make just one point about the ending of Game of Thrones. After the Battle of Winterfell, lots of people were complaining about how the Night King died too early, how he should have actually won that battle, and how the real final battle of the series should have been between all the people, including Cersei, and the army of the dead.

Looking back now, it seems obvious why that couldn’t have happened. If the Night King won, none of the events that followed could have happened. It’s clear now that the major arc of Game of Thrones has been Dani’s – her progression from an innocent girl, to a leader, then finally a win at all costs thirst for power. Sure, the season has been rushed and maybe the winter / white walkers story could have lasted longer, but overall we should accept that the stories of men, in the end, were more important to tell than the existential threat of the white walkers.
