Hosts,

Discovered your podcast when season 7 premiered and have been an avid listener ever since. Thanks for the time you take to put it together.

This was one of my favorite episodes of the whole series and I have to defend it from the massive amount of hate it has been receiving! Specifically for this show, I have to defend the chance encounter of Euron and Jaime.

The double D’s and the show spent scarce screentime on a series of scenes leading to Jaime arriving at that port. We see Jaime sneak into Kings Landing, try going through the main gates, and when he realized he wouldn’t make it, do the most logical thing is going around to a secret entrance that only a few people would know about- him being one of them for obvious reasons.

For Euron, we see a shot of him before Drogon destroys the ship he is on. Euron realizes his fleet is doomed and the scene shows him preparing to jump off the ledge and into the water. Euron is a Greyjoy, he is an Ironborn, and he is an elected leader by way of drowning and emerging from the sea. There is no reason to believe he would not have survived the swim to shore. Also, as a naval commander, he knew where he to go to hide out. This spot directly links him to Jaime.

As for timing, after all of the jetpacking and other coincidental time-plot holes, it is fair to let this one go as the possibility of them arriving at the same time is far from a stretch in the world of GoT.

Glad you guys also enjoyed the episode and keep up the great work for this final week.

All the best,

Josh from San Diego
