Preface: The season and this episode play out exactly the same until we see Danyerys’ braids on the steps. She gives her speech but Drogon is already sleeping under the snow.

As Danyerys’ gives her speech we see Jon get angry. He unsheaths longclaw and confronts Dany in front of the dothraki and unsullied. Greyworm unsheaths his weapon.

Jon says this isn’t right Dany and she is not backing down. Jon decides to kill her right there.

Greyworm and Jon battle on the steps.

Jon defeats Greyworm and becomes the leader of the unsullied.

Jon orders the unsullied to defeat the Dothraki (to give both tribes a satisfying ending)

Jon goes to the red keep and sees Drogon

Drogon accepts Jon just like in the HBO version. Jon decides Drogon cannot live (he is too powerful). Jon kills Drogon with longclaw. Longclaw then becomes Lightbringer (fulfilling the prophecy)

Jon goes to the throne room, Tyrion makes his way there as well.

Jon and Tyrion discuss Jon becoming king.

Jon abdecates the throne saying he wants to go to the north.

The episode finishes the same way as the HBO version starting with Tyrion at the Dragon Pit small council but he isn’t a prisoner. He is leading the council (which he did anyway).

One more small change…

At the end of the episode after Jon goes with the wildlings past the wall…

We fade to Black

And there is one more scene…

We are back in winterfell with the Starks all together under the weirwood tree and we are zoomed in on Bran green seeing. He opens his eyes and Jon tells Bran to tell Sansa and Arya the truth about him. Instead of saying it’s your choice he says we shouldn’t tell them yet.

Fade to Black and we see coming in 2020 the real final season of Game of Thrones.
