Why Give Jorah Grayscale?

Hey again guys,

I wanted to again stress a few small issues I had with the most recent episode.

My main complaint is the whole Sam curing Jorah thing. The fact that an inexperienced maester in training was able to heal a man with a severe case of Grayscale in LESS THAN 24 HOURS (Archmaester mentioned in episode 2 that Jorah was being sent away the next day) is absolutely ludicrous. Grayscale is the most contagious and complex disease in Westeros. Hell, even the archmaester himself does not know how to cure the diesease.

Even if you accept that Sam was somehow able to complete this impossible task in the short window, he should have been lauded as a prodigy or at the least, given a link for his chain.

One of the main reasons I am upset over the whole Sam/Jorah thing is because I cannot wrap my head around why the showrunners even bothered to give Jorah grayscale in the first place. He didn’t seem to learn anything during his time in containment and was healed pretty quickly. I liked the idea of Jorah and his disease having a bigger impact on the story but now that he is cured I find the whole storyline pointless.

I would love to hear your thoughts on this and the role Jorah may have going forward.

Thanks guys and keep up the good work.
