GOT 806 Alternate Ending

Hi Gene and Big D,

Greetings from Long Island, NY. I am a huge fan of your podcast and always enjoy hearing what you have to say about each week’s episode. I have mixed feelings about the finale. I enjoyed the visuals of King’s Landing as a post apocalyptic world, Drogon behind Daenerys as she gives her victory speech, and the rallying of her troops and even the assassination of Daenerys even though it brought tears to my eyes. I pretty much stopped enjoying the episode once we arrived at Tyrion’s trial. It seemed a bit lame to be honest and I felt that justice for Daenerys, the Unsullied, Dothraki and Iron Born was not served that day. I won’t go into detail about how Tyrion/Jon’s trial and the nomination of Bran can be fixed because I can’t be unbiased in my opinion and probably would need 500,000 words to do so. But what I can offer is an alternate ending. I read this to a few of my colleagues and it gave them “full body chills”, enjoy! (See below)

After the final scene the picture cuts to black for approximately 10 seconds. It reopens with Drogon landing on a mountain in the clouds, Daenerys’ body still clutched in his talons. Drogon lays her body down and roars. A figure wearing a black hooded robe walks out and bows, Drogon returns the gesture. The hooded figure picks up Daenerys’ corpse, you see the hands of the figure wrapped around her lifeless limbs, they are pale white, scaly and resemble dragon claws. The figure places Daenerys on a pyre. Drogon watches as the mysterious figure begins a ritual. The pyre is lit and the figure begins a chant in an unknown tongue. The chant grows louder and angrier as the fire swirls around Daenerys’ body. At the final moments the hooded figure is now screaming the chant, the audience sees the yellow non-human eyes and the sharp teeth of the figure illuminated by the fire. Drogon lets out his loudest most powerful roar as the chant ends. The camera pans back to Daenerys’ face, her eyes open and the audience sees deep red irises replacing her once blue/green eyes. The scene is over and cuts to black once again.

Thanks for reading, I hope you enjoyed it. Looking forward to 2020 and the return of Westworld.

Much Love,

Billie C.
