GOT finale rewrite

Hey guys listen to your podcast and heard you were interested in hearing alternative endings for GoT. I had thought up this ending prior to the series finale and had hopes D&D would go in this direction based on the setup and was somewhat disappointed that they couldn’t have done something similar. It completes the whole mad queen arc nicely, I think something most people didn’t like and felt was unjustified. Probably would have needed to extend the season by an additional episode but it would have tied everything together. It’s lengthy but bear with me.

The episode could start exactly as they did up to and including the meeting between Tyrion and John in the cell. Word goes out to Westeros (specifically Sansa) of Tyrion being arrested.

Tyrion goes before daynerys for his trial of treason. During this she lays out all the previous events that she believes proves Tyrion was working with the Lannister’s and against her the whole time. Originally sent to her as a spy, Losing the city of Meereen to the masters, losing dorn army to Euron sneak attack, losing tyrell due to casterly rock decision, stalling her from attacking the city straight away when she arrived in Westeros to help Cersei build her army, freeing Jamie, all things that from her perspective have benefited Lannister family. She could even mention how she allowed unsullied to let Tyrion free Jamie just so she could prove his betrayal. She could mention how in ep5 she saw his plea to stop her army advancement when the bells ring as a trap he and Cersei were trying to set for her. That’s why when she heard the bells she goes all out crazy and destroys the whole city. she can also mention that betrayal is in the Lannister blood as it was they who originally betrayed the targaryeans during Roberts rebellion and sacked the city. She can make a remark how she has now repaid the debt.

Just as she is about to pass judgment Tyrion knowing he’ll be found guilty again demands trial by combat which she grants per Westeros tradition and chooses grey worm as her champion. John knowing that Tyrion is a good man and that daneyrs is wrong stands and champions for Tyrion. At first daneyrs is surprised, but turns angry and his complete betrayal and accepts it. You have an epic 1v1 between grey worm and John. John kills grey worm but is also mortally wounded but alive for now. Not accepting the outcome daneyrs orders her guard to execute Tyrion. Just as they are about to, Bronn comes out of nowhere to save Tyrion from the ax sayin something like “I told you I need you alive”. At the same time Sansa, the north army, the vale and the wildings (who she called down) enter the city and surround the unsullied and Dothraki who gathered for the trial. Knowing she is outmanned Daneyrs goes to Drogon for her “burn them all” moment but just as she is about to tormund kills drogon with the north’s version of a scorpion and ayra kills daneyrs. Tormund has a line about now being named Tormund Dragonsbane. Sansa and her army overtake and capture the rest of the army who must surrender. John eventually dies, with ghost by his side, after having a final exchange with Tyrion perhaps saying something that gives him the idea of who should be the king.

After this they can continue as they did with the kings moot nominating bran and have it go as it did or If instead of voting for bran and somehow they worked it for ayra to win the throne she could have married gendry making it Baratheon and stark like it was after Robert rebellion and when he says “I thought you never want to be a lady” she could reply “I’m not a lady, I’m a queen”
