Got S.8 Premier and Foreshadowing Dany’s, Cersei’s Death

Hey guys,

Welcome back! It’s going to be a great season and I look forward to your podcasts!

I believe Cersei’s and Dany’s deaths are foreshadowed way back in season 2.

First, in Season 2 Episode 4, Arya, Gendry, and Hot Pie arrive at the burnt remains of Harrenhal and it’s mentioned that only dragon fire can melt stone (important fore-foreshadowing detail).

Later in the season, while Dany is in the House of the Undying, she has several visions that I think hint at her death: In the finale of season 2, when Dany is in the House of the Undying, her first vision is of the crown room in King’s Landing. The room is exposed, the walls and ceiling melted as those of Harrenhal (the only thing that can melt stone is dragon fire), and the throne and everything around it is covered with snow. This, I think, foreshadows two things: winter (the Night King) has come to Kings Landing and a dragon attack on KL and Cersie’s death. (side note: Before last season I thought this had to be Dany who attacked, but now I believe it could be the Night King with Dany’s undead dragon.)

Continuing with her vision from the House of the Undying, Dany goes to touch the throne (symbolizing her ruling Westeros), she is interrupted by the call of her dragons. She leaves the throne room without taking the throne and exits through a gate in The Wall. This symbolizes her going to fight the White Walkers instead of taking throne and ruling over Westoros from there.

She comes to a Dothraki tent in the middle of the snow and, upon entering it, sees Drogo and her unborn child (now born). The room lights up immediately and as they exchange pleasantries she forgets about her children, ahem dragons, as she embraces Drogo and her human child.Yada Yada Yada, this symbolizes her being reunited with them in death.

I believe this foreshadowing from season 2 will be confirmed by her death in season 8. I think she will fall while fighting the White Walkers.

I also think all this could suggest that the White Walkers’ path of destruction might skip Winterfell and head straight to King’s Landing, as I also feel that there is some morality (although heavily veiled) in the Night King’s quest: to eradicate evil and corruption. Cersei is of course the epitome of evil and corruption. So far we know the WWs have gone from East Watch to Last Hearth, a direction of pretty much due south that would put them on course to hit the King’s Road at The Neck. If Winterfell were their target, why would they go to Last Hearth first instead of going straight to Winterfell? They put themselves behind a natural barrier of the river by doing so.

Last thought: perhaps the fracture will occur between Jon and Dany when it’s revealed that Jon is the true heir to the throne will cause Dany to pull her armies from Winterfell and continue her quest to overthrow Cersei in KL. This won’t matter for Jon because he is not the target of the Night King. In her lust for the throne, Dany goes to KL to overthrow Cersei, finds that the WWs have beat her to it, but then meets them on the battlefield where she dies.
