GOT Small Council – Golden Army Of The Dead

Hey Guys,

Just getting into the podcast this season, but great work so far. I know there is a lot of speculation as to where the Night King is after he wasn’t on screen at the end of the last episode, so here is my theory.

The Night King has spent thousands of years since the last long night amassing his forces and waiting for the right time to strike. He wants to ensure total victory with no chance of escape and one way to ensure that would be to cut off the escape route. My theory is that he has traveled on his dragon south to Kings Landing with the intention of destroying the Lannister army and the Golden Company, only to resurrect them into his southern army. The two army would then march killing everything in their way until they merge with no chance for escape. I’m sure that Cersei and the Mountain would escape Kings Landing only to flee north and run into those fleeing south or to make it to whatever stronghold is left in the north. I’m not sure if I see the show having a battle to defeat the Night King and then a secondary battle to defeat the Cersei when that can be handled with a much smaller conflict than a second all out war in the 4 episodes we have remaining. This would in effect take out Cersei’s army solidifying the plot to be the living against the dead.
