Maeve gets Lawrence to turn on William by telling him to remember what William has done to him. But how does she know what William has done to him?
Is Maeve just assuming, because William in her experience is violent and cruel, that he must have done something nasty to Lawrence? I suppose so, because it seems to me that she can have no concrete knowledge of William’s conduct towards Lawrence.
