How Teddy Got Into The Valley Beyond

There was a scene where Delores took the slug that killed Teddy off of his bulletproof MPU. My assumption was that she knew about the Door to the Valley given her early history like Ake’s and she took Teddy’s pearl and used the device in the Forge to upload his code to the Valley. This obviously wasn’t shown and I need to review the finale to see if there was some opportunity during the scene where she or one of the drones could have done this.
