Last Minute Call

Hey, guys!

One quick thought about the finale (cause I know I’m runnig out of time to submit this to the Small Council).

When Aegon the First conquered Westeros, King Torrhen Stark knelt before him to avoid blodshed and submit peacefully to the dragon conqueror. Now, one of the last shots we get is the rightful Targaryen heir, Jon Snow (aka Aegon the Last) kneeling before King Bran Stark to avoid blodshed (even if it’s his own). There’s some poetic justice there. And the North ended up pretty good, considering everything that happened in between. Which leads to an argument that this ending was WAY too happy for Game of Thrones. Ok, Daenerys died, but the main family, the Starks (GRRM himself said the first thing of this story that came to his mind way back when was the scene of the Stark kids finding the direwolf puppies), with TOTAL CONTROL of the entire Realm. The only bittersweet thing was how the show got us there.

Thanks for the awesome podcasts, as always.

Much love,
