Maeve’s Character

Love the show. So glad to see (hear?) you all back analysing Westworld.

My question, has to do with Maeve and why something just feels off to me when she’s on screen. I can’t really put my finger on it. I like her character (not my fav but she’s good), but everytime she’s on screen I feel like I’m watching a TV show, rather than being immersed into this new world like I am with other characters. Maybe its the fact I know nothing in her story is really real so doesn’t have as much gravity to it. Maybe its the dialogue that feels far too staged, or maybe that’s the point. Maybe its the acting or the writing. The story is captivating. The character just isn’t. But I cant really tell you why.

I know its not really a question, but I wanted to hear your lots thoughts on her character and dialogue.
