Musical Secrets and Foreshadowing in Game of Thrones

Hi guys,

This isn’t an um-actually but more of a comment. As we know musical in this show is so visceral and has such a big part of the mood and how the action on screen is to be relayed to the audience at home. In that vein, there exists a neat article from Vanity Fair, that details how the music (tracks and motifs) as released at the onset of the season, details the future of the show.

Title tracks such as “Nobody walks away from me” are now obvious references to Cersei’s repeated, threatening comments made in the S7 finale. Furthermore, the John and Danny tryst is predicted by the title track “truth” which interlocks both of their musical signatures from the show while they are doing their own kind of ‘interlocking’.

Anyways-obsessed fans should definitely look to the vanity fair article for these neat and otherwise hard to notice connections for a richer experience. Just wanted to draw your attention if you missed this creative piece of writing. My girlfriend turned me on to it so shout out to Gaby.

As always, love the podcast, sad that this chapter is over but I can’t wait for 2019. Oh. And westworld too!

Best,

Mitch
