Some of this you know, this is a possible interpretation.

So the Simon made a storyline which Ford rejected. Ford then suggested his own storyline. While he is telling the Simon dude about the kind of storyline he should, the speech he makes is cut in with a scene of William, picking up a can for Dolores, and handing it to her.

It’s what Ford is saying at this time that is important. He is saying people know who they are when they come to the park, and we show them who they COULD be. This specific thing is said as William meets Dolores and hands her the can. (Something we see Teddy do also)

This is followed up by a shot of Bernard and Ford walking through the desert and the shot ends with Ford telling Bernard that the new storyline is quite original The camera then pans up on what appears to be a buried and broken church steeple.

This church steeple is the same one from a flashback Dolores has when speaking to the little girl. She is told to remember by the voice in her head and we see a village/town with a church that has that steeple.

All of this information together means that probably, the new storyline Ford is creating is based on the story of William and Dolores. It is the story of a man who knows who he is when he enters the park. And finds out what he could become. The destination William and Dolores head to next will probably include the church with that steeple.

So combine this with a few other theories and we have some interesting options. This is my person theory overall. The reason no one knows about this storyline is because it happened when the park was closed to the public. Some investors came into the park (the man in black) and experienced Westworld and invested in the park saving it. Something major happened the first time around. Dolores was off-loop, becoming conscious, the man in black fell in love with her. Ford reset everything. Dolores, who was also in love after becoming conscious showed signs of breaking her programming.

Teddy was made in the image of the man in black to provide her with what she longed for and keep her in check. If I remember correctly when we see Dolores and teddy together early in the show, she is surprised to see him back in town. This is a small piece of evidence that he is based on an outsider who is not always there with them in town. Also without going too much into it, it’s possible that in the early days of the park hosts could remember who they had met.

It is possible the man in black visited Dolores many times, and her being surprised to see teddy back in town could allude to this. Then due to something bad happening, it was decided to make the hosts forget and stick to daily loops.

What I have said fits in with current theories. Now put on the tin foil hat for a little extra crazy.

This leaves me thinking that perhaps the man in black looked like Teddy when he was younger. Teddy was based on him.

William is not the man in black at all. William is a patron of the park. In the future.(Relative to Simon’s storyline being rejected and Ford creating a new one) William is experiencing Ford’s finished narrative that he is currently building in what we perceive as the present.

Great show guys, keep it up!

Paul
