Hi guys,

I just came across your podcast this week and went through your coverage of season 3. Love the podcast. On the episode 6 one of y’all made comments on Nic and how insufferable he comes across and it compelled me to share some personal childhood evidence to support this. Also some fun facts about names and locations.

Nic and I went to the same catholic school. He’s a grade younger. With 60 in each grade then we definitely knew each other. Im not talking shit more than stating facts that you’ll be hard pressed to find anyone who actually liked him. He was a talented artist at that time and young age and was overly confident and rather arrogant in his abilities and never held back in ranking anyone else’s artwork, drawings, writing etc. In short, he was an asshole but we all thought he was talented.

Fun facts are how much of our hometown and names are used throughout season 1. Lake Charles is where we grew up. I’m a Fontenot but there’s thousands of us so I don’t hold any thoughts that I was even on his mind when he created the Fontenot girl murder victim. But we did have one family of Kordishes who was another victims name. Our school was called Lady Queen of Heaven and season 1 had Our Lady Queen of Angels. I’m certain that’s direct connection. Season 3 had the Ardoin character that’s also a very common Cajun last name. He did get locations correct with the meth lab location and how close Houston is to Lake Charles.

For all of us it’s been great to have our names and locations be so prominent on such an amazing Season 1.

Love the podcast,
Josh Fontenot
