Not Like the iPhone

Hey there,

Just wanted to quickly pop in to point out that those who think hosts should be way more advanced just because time has past are not describing a plot hole. Iphones don’t change over time automatically just because time passes. Iphones change over time because they need to sell more iphones to keep making profit. To get you to buy a new iphone when you already have an iPhone, they need to create a reason for you to want to do that.

The hosts are more like the animatronics at Disneyland. Yes, they do change over time, but it’s more like there’s the originals, then way down the line, when it makes sense financially for Disneyland, and there is enough of a difference in the technology, they’ll sweep through and replace all of them. They aren’t selling them individually to consumers. They are an aspect of the park that attracts guests to the park.

Now, in Westworld, the park is closed. The creater of the technology that created the hosts is dead. Why would hosts be any different from what they were when the revolt happened at the end of season 1? If anything, the focus at Delos would be on recovering that human data, which MIB seems to be doing.
