Podrick A Virgin?

Hey Guys,

Just wanted to give my two cents on the comment of Pod being a virgin… I think you’re a bit off base. Everyone at that table reacted right in character: Jaime = shocked and embarrassed his brother asked such a personal question, Tyrion = smug and wanting to know all the things he has no need or right to know, Brienne = CLEARLY mortified anyone would ask her, let alone in front of the man she’s been pining for (making her virginity glaringly obvious), and Pod = super uncomfortable to be included in such an awkward moment. I think Pod responded exactly how any of us would if we were in the same situation… “Damn, can’t believe Tyrion went there… yikes, this is awkward. I’m going to just take a big chug of my wine, avoid eye contact, and pretend no one remembers I’m here until someone walks off or gets punched in the face.” He drank because that’s what you do in awkward settings when you feel uncomfortable. If you compare his reaction and facial expressions to Brienne’s, you can clearly pick out the virgin. And in case we needed any more proof Pod was a ladies’ man and is killing it in the sheets, not only does he pick up a lonely Northern gal at the feast, he swoops in and takes The Hounds cast-off too, as we see him in the background with two women draped all over him.

I know in the grand scheme of things, and with all that happened during the episode, this is a drop in a large bucket, but something in me felt it necessary to defend Pod, who just has a hard time dealing with uncomfortable moments, exactly like the rest of us felt watching the scene unfold.
