Quick Pre-Ep5 Ghost Nation Theory

Hello everyone,

I had a thought on Ghost Nation that may explain them seemingly doing as they please even before the events of the Sweetwater Massacre with Stubbs. Granted this comes to you before Ep.6, so I may be proven wrong this evening, but we shall see.

So I saw some images on Facebook from Season 1 Ep.4 where a Native child (presumably Ghost Nation in origin) carrying a doll that looks like the Techs in Westworld, and with the caption mentioning a soldier saying “it was part of their religion”. I got to thinking, and I can elaborate on this further later if you wish, but I’m calling it: Ghost Nation is a group of sentient hosts in Westworld that have no knowledge of the outside world or what/who the Techs are, but they know they have power due to them retrieving and reviving the “dead” and repairing broken things within the park. And since they do not know of the outside world, they decide not to explore or leave since they would not have any impetus to do so. Ghost Nation would be sentient, but not necessarily know what they are, where they are (other than home presumably), or why they’re there.

I have reasons for this including Ghost Nation’s knowing the Techs exist based on the doll since otherwise if they were like the other hosts the Techs would “look like nothing to them”, most not knowing they are (presumably) protecting the guests as evident by Sizemore’s not wishing to go with Ghost Nation, and Ford wishing for the death of the “Money Men” to save his park and dream and not wishing to protect them since it seems a bit paradoxical to do so otherwise considering his feelings towards them.

Please let me know your thoughts.

Regards,
Chris S.
