Hi guys,

I love the podcast and I’m also bummed at the ending of the series. Not because of the way it went, but how they went about it. You know, like everyone else.

I think the only way you can explain the rushed/not well thought out series of events that we call season 8, is to blame Bran. How? The last scene is Bran on his chair/throne where the iron throne was so it shows he’s now ruling. His eyes are rolled back and he’s currently warging to god knows where (since we have 0 plot development around why he does that all season). Then his eyes flip back and they are crystal blue like the night king. I know the night king is supposed to be dead and the world’s worst red herring. BUT since they didn’t bother giving us ANY depth of character or their motives this season this explains the chaos with more chaos. Essentially Bran was in everyone’s brains this whole time controlling to get him into power and he’s really been the night king all along – because broken, sad Bran being manipulative is way harder pull together with 0 more episodes.

Bran working as the night king to get to power ties up quite a few loose ends. One – it explains why Dany and Jon are going through these motions of love, but aren’t selling anyone. Bran is controlling that. Two – Unsullied going to Naath where they will die (since we are re-writing let’s assume this is part of it). Now there’s no one to avenge Dany’s death. Three – Putting Jon and the free folk back north past the wall and making the North free, anyone that’s fought the night king previously is no longer bound to the south and isn’t getting caught up in their issues. Oh, and Arya is on a ship to another continent, also not a threat. Four – That explains why Dany went crazy and killed everyone. Bran made her do it. He would then set up for Jon to kill her, eliminating both heirs to the throne. Five – For some reason people still listen to Tyrion so Bran cut him a deal when they had the conversation that we never got to see anything more of.

I’m sure I could go one, but why? Basically, the only way to explain the haste of this season is with more chaos.

Don’t get me wrong, I was never backing the idea “Bran as the night king” but after this season, I can be satisfied with going back to some basic “chaos is a ladder” line at this point. SOMETHING.

Thanks for taking the time to read this. I know it’s not an elaborate theory but I wanted to see what the smallest thing I could change for things to make sense. To me this makes sense, but I could be completely wrong.

Thanks again,

Tiffany Keaton
