Riddle Of The Sphynx Questions

Hey guys, I really appreciate your show. I have some thoughts on your questions.

1. Who is the human/host control that Bernard stole from the lab? After considering this option, I can’t see it any other way:

Jeffrey Wright awakens on the beach to chaos, some time in the future of our current episode’s timeline. He appears confused, as if he’s struggling to keep-up with what’s happening. This is because Jeffrey Wright isn’t playing Bernard, but rather the Arnold hybrid.

1. What is the beginning that The Man in Black needs to get to? (I’m less confident in this one) William truly became the Man in Black when he was heartbroken by Dolores. Like a breakup reaching full closure, William and Dolores need to come to some peaceful understanding of each other, including their combined past. To tie things together, this will somehow be in Sweetwater and involve Dolores’s dropped canned-goods.

Bonus: You suggested William/MIB have a parallel to Oedipus. If that’s the case, is it possible that somehow James is his real father? He then will have (in a sense) killed his father and committed incest. (I hope not, that storyline would suck). Also, in the sequels to Oedipus Rex, his daughters become more major characters, primarily, his daughter Antigone (pronounced Antigony); if you were going to try to turn Antigone into a contemporary name, I suppose Emily would suffice. William’s wife killed herself before she came to an age at which William and co. would start trying to replicate her. She killed herself to prevent living forever.

Thanks again for the show. Keep all the good stuff and whacky ideas cooking!

Sincerely,

Erik J. Rinke, MA LMFT
