River Rants – Carlsbad Identity

Hey guys,

Love your podcast, been listening since Westworld and decided to jump on the Taboo train largely because y’all are covering it.

At the time of this writing, the most recent River Rants episode has already come out, so it’s possible that this theory will be obsolete and answered in the next ep, so apologies if that is the case.

Anyway, I don’t think that the Countess Musgrove is actually Carlsbad. When they are in the magic trick, James tells the Countess “I THINk I know who you are (emphasis on think)……. as is your name in mine — Carlsbad”. The Countess gives James a puzzled look and it really looks like she is about to shake her head and say no, but she is interrupted by the magic trick. The next time that they speak, she ignores James assertion.

I might have done a poor job explaining that, but if you go back and watch the scene under the pretense that the Countess is not Carlsbad, I think you will understand what I’m seeing.

Who is Carlsbad then? I’m not sure, but Lorna seems like the only other option. Anyway, keep up the good work, I’m looking forward to the next episode!
